Privacy policy of the AppGelato guide

AppGelato is designed to collect the bare minimum: the site requires no registration, does not profile visitors and sells no advertising space. This page describes, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), which data is processed while browsing.

Browsing data

Like any website, the hosting infrastructure records in its technical logs the data implied by the protocol — IP address, date and time of the request, requested page, browser user agent. This data serves exclusively the operation and security of the service, is not used to identify visitors, and is kept only for the technically necessary time.

No accounts, no forms

The site has no registration, login, newsletter or contact forms: no personal data is requested or actively collected while consulting the guide.

Cookies and tracking

The site sets no profiling cookies of its own and uses no third-party traffic analytics. Fonts are hosted on the site's own domain, with no calls to external font services.

Google Maps in the listings

Gelateria listings include an embedded Google map, which loads only when the map section enters the screen. On loading, the browser contacts Google's servers; Google acts as an independent data controller and may set its own cookies according to its privacy policy. Anyone who prefers to avoid this can refrain from scrolling to the map or block third-party content in the browser: the rest of the listing works regardless.

Data about the gelaterie

Listings concern businesses, not private individuals: public names, addresses, opening hours and contact details come from open sources — including OpenStreetMap — and from the guide's archive. A business owner can at any time request the correction or removal of their shop's data, which will be applied at the next update cycle.

Your rights

The GDPR grants data subjects the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection (arts. 15–21) and the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority. Given the nature of the site — no active collection of personal data — these rights in practice concern only the technical browsing logs.
